Bangsar South City a.k.a Kampung Kerinchi

Now you know whether the sky is high or low , Lan Mantoya...

This morning I went for breakfast and lepak-lepak in Bangsar South City, previously known as Kampung Kerinchi, near Pantai Dalam area. There’s a new mamak restaurant, which is also known restoran KTK (Kedai Tepi Kubur)..I was told that the ‘roti telur goyang’ there is scrumptious…so apa tunggu lagi..

Haven't been there for quite sometime...I was so amazed!...Kampung Kerinchi, the place where my fellow friends and I played hide n seek, ‘usha-usha’ awek and enjoyed cyclying up and down the 'rumah panjang KTM' area is now totally contradicts the memory stored in my mind. Those days..Kg Kerinchi was totally dominated by the Malays, mostly migrated from the rural areas from all states of Malaysia... it was rare to see people with slanting eyes roaming there, except for the 'manggis' who run illegal workshops along the roadsides. Now, Kampung Kerinchi is a very developed area…the stinggarden and the rumah panjang are no longer exist…my friends now have moved by the government to PPR apartments, one of them so called Flat Jagung ( orange building)…

I was munching my ‘roti telor goyang’ .then suddenly Lan Mantoya waving from across the road…grinning, like ‘a cat just swallowed a canary’. Nak makan freelah tu…no problem..He then talk about his current job as ‘Mat Despatch’and his family..so productive..dah ada 3 anak…( I masih bujang terlajak) and how the people here has changed..from a low class to a middle class society…I’m proud of him..he told me all these while, this area was developed stage by stage by the former ADUN, Shahrizat Jalil..I remember her as a brilliant, caring, friendly yet a gorgeous lady….we all budak-budak pun minat kat dia…

Lan Mantoya said that he made a very serious mistake during the previous election…now that he regret it…most people were enthralled by the fake charm of Nurul Izzah..but then, after 2 years she is rarely seen in Kerinchi…"harap muka aje cun!..takda buat apa2 pun…bayang pun tak nampak…good for nothing!", complained Mantoya...Shahrizat’s effort all these while…Community Centre with swimming pool, mosque, clinic…Nurul Izzah makes full use of them for her own and her father’s  benefit…Lembu punya susu, sapi dapat nama…Lan Mantoya said angrily ( first time in my life I heard Mantoya’s wise remark)…baru kau sedar ya Mantoya.. Now you know whether the sky is high or low!! I’m glad he’s now sensible again…

“Kita jumpa lagi kat Coffee Bean The Sphere lahhh…ada banyak lagi story aku nak cerita ngan kau...nanti aku belanja”, he waved good bye…Aku lagi lah yang kena bayar tu...
